This box has been painted by a talented artist Tugarinova Galina from the village of Fedoskino. It shows the famous St. Basil's Cathedral located on the Red Square and Kremlin cathedrals on the back, including Spasskaya tower with famous clocks. St. Basil's Cathedral has the second name- the Pokrovsky Cathedral.
The color palette reflects the summer season and the realistic view of the cathedral. Mother-of-pearl shines through the walls of St.Basil's Cathedral, Spasskaya Tower and Kremlin's Palace.
The scene is framed with a golden ornament, as well as the sides of the box are decorated with golden ornamentation too.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the piece while red lacquer completes the interior of the box. The lid is hinged from the top of the composition, and the box rests on a wavy platform . The work is signed with the artist name, Fedoskino and 2017.
