A date

This is a masterfully painted work by the Top Fedoskino master, Sergey Kozlov. Kozlov is a live Legend in the Lacquer Miniature World. His unique works are displayed in every catalogue on the Russian Lacquer Art, as well as in many Museums and in private collections. It is a success to any collector to acquire a work of such prominent Artist.
The composition is very pretty and romantic. It shows a loving couple taking a slow walk on the bank of a nice lake in the 18-19th century. We can see a little dog near the couple. Lady is using an umbrella. On the backstage we can see several little boats and estate of the 18th century, boats and the building are reflects in the waters of the lake.
The characters are painted in warm pastel and gray tones whereas the surrounding landscape is painted in cold green and gray suitable for depiction of a summer scene. Mother-of pearl can be found in the skies, but for the water of the lake the artist has used aluminum paint, and he used it so masterfully, that it glows almost as mother-of pearl!
The elegantly shaped box is constructed out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The composition is framed with a gold line.
The exterior of the box (including the bottom of the exterior) is decorated with beautiful gold patterns. The lid is hinged from the top of the composition and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name,Fedoskino and the date 2018.
