Winter

This beautiful winter landscape has been painted by Parmenov from the village of Fedoskino. It shows the riverbank covered with deep snowdrifts and the river covered with thin ice.
The scene is mostly painted in white and blue tones that fit excellently for reproduction of a winter landscape. Two stacks of hays are located on different banks and are painted with an aid of golden foil. Both stacks are covered with a snow at the tops.
The scene is framed with gold line.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. The box maybe used as pencil-box. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the top of the composition, and the box rests flat. The work is signed with the artist's name.
