This box is an interesting creation of Dmitriy Tipyakov from the village of Fedoskino. It shows a scene from Christian Andersen's popular fairy tale "The Snow Queen".
Here the artist has chosen to depict a moment of the tale when Gerda managed to penetrate into the icy palace of the Snow Queen. She found there her kidnapped brother, Kay, and tries to warm him up. The Snow Queen is painted on the front of the scene. Later Gerda embraced Kay, and her hot tears melted the ice in Kay's heart and washed out pieces of the evil mirror from his eyes. In that moment the powerful Snow Queen and her splendid ice palace started to melt. Only true love can make wonders!
On the back side of this originally shaped box we can see huge ice palace of Snow Queen and on the top of the box we can see Gerda on the deer trying to get to the Kingdom of Snow Queen.
The scenes are framed with a gold lines. The box has a hinge to the top of the box and the box rests on the flat surface.
The box is signed with the artist's name, title and dated.
