The theme of this work is Alexander Pushkin's “Tale of Tsar Saltan”. On the place where sarafan is usually painted the artist depicts some recognizable scenes from the tale. The first and the biggest nesting doll shows Prince Gvidon and his mother who unexpectedly appeared on the magic island. On the second doll the artist depicts the transformation of the Swan Princess into a beautiful maiden. The third doll features the Swan Princess in her bird form swinging on the sea waves. The fourth doll depicts the beautiful and magic island of Prince Gvidon whereas the fifth one shows the table covered with tasty dishes that is the symbol of the feast arranged in the end of the tale. The biggest doll is signed with the artist's name, the year of 2010, and Russia.
