Stormy Waters

Having the box in the hands, you can easily imagine yourself on the coast of a lake or seashore with a strong wind...Several minutes and dark skies will send the first raindrops... To the left from the strong tree trunks we can see alone white sail of a small boat...
Composition is painted in gray and blue tones. Several pieces of mother-of-pearl are inlayed in the skies and make a luminus effect.
Composition is framed with a gold line, the sides are decorated with a gold line and some bended down with a wind grass stalks.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the piece while radiant red lacquer completes the interior of the work. A hinge has been fastened to the top of the composition to be used for ease of opening. The box rests flat.
The box is signed with the artist name, Fedoskino and the date of 2016 at the bottom of the composition.
