Summer Time!

This small traditional Palekh box has been painted by talented Palekh artist, Zolotareov Valerie.
The composition shows a scene from a peasant life. Beautiful Summer Day and two young ladies went out to the forest to pick up the Berries and young man is out for the fishing.
The composition is framed bids pattern painted in gold. The ornamental pattern can be found wrapping around the box's sides also painted in gold.
The box is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The lid is hinged from the top of the composition and the box rests flat. Signed with the name of the artist, the year of 2005 and the village of Palekh.
