This traditional Kholui box a creation of I. Romanova. Here she has chosen to depict the St. George Cathedral situated in the town of Yuriev-Polsky. The palette is filled with cold blues suitable for reproduction of a winter scene. Various details are enhanced with brilliant gold paint.
The box is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The depicted scene is framed with gold beads while the box's sides are adorned with intricate gold ornaments accompanied by gold snowflakes. The lid isn't hinged, and the box rests on four rounded legs. The work is signed with the name of the artist, the village of Kholui, and the title.
