The Secrets of the Sea

This interesting piece is Alexey Valyalin's original work. It shows several dolphins swimming in the ocean's depths around an acient town, which is now covered with a water. The sunlight struggles through the underwater caves and illuminates the walls of the building ,water plants, corals and fishes. The great skill is needed to reproduce the atmosphere of an underwater world as artist Valyalin did.
The box's exterior imitates a stone color: light grey veins are scattered against the blue-silver background. The interior is traditionally covered with red lacquer.
The scene is framed with a gold line. Two parallel gold lines decorate the box's sides.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. It has a hinge from the left of the scene, and rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, the year of 2009, the village of Fedoskino and the name of the work-"The Secrets of the Sea".
