Portrait of a Woman

This enchanting portrait of the beautiful woman has been painted by the famous Fedoskino painter, Sergey Golubyonkov. The artist focuses the viewer's attention on the woman's face; he perfectly renders her facial details and nuances tones of her skin. Using various artistic methods, Golubyonkov has managed to express innocence and sincerity of the depicted woman. The outer edge of the lid is painted with a fine band of gold paint. The base of the box has two lines done in gold painted parallel to each other, the bottom line slightly thicker than the other.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the left of the portrait, and the box rests flat. The work is signed with the artist's name, and the village of Fedoskino.
