Basket full of Mushrooms

This interesting work has been created by well-known artist Tatiana Feodorova from the village of Fedoskino. The box repeats the shape of a basket filled with mushrooms.
The box's sides are painted to imitate the texture of a basket made out of flexible twigs; on the top of mushrooms Feodorova also paints a butterfly and a fly, leaves and nails of a pine tree.
To paint this work the artist has used various shades of brown oils, and gold metal paint as an underlayer for the oils. Gold paint shines beautifully through the oils, and the box looks festive and appealing. More festivity comes from a piece of mother-of pearl that shines through a butterfly and a fly as well.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. The lid is hinged at top, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The box's interior is covered with red lacquer; the box's exterior bottom is covered with black lacquer. Signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino, and the year of 2009.
