This enchanting piece of authentic Palekh artistry was painted by Kryukova Valentina. It shows a recognizable scene from Alexander Pushkin's Tale of Tsar Saltan. The sumptuous feast is arranged in Gvidon's palace to celebrate a reunion of the family. All people of the kingdom are invited to the feast!

The composition painted in the traditional Palekh style is very bright and colorful. Gold and aluminum paint applied with a very thin brush helps the artist to accentuate richness of the characters' costumes and splendour of the architecture.
The box is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers its exterior and red lacquer covers its interior. The exterior is decorated with rich gold ornaments accented on the sides with aluminum. The lid is not hinged, and the box rests on three legs. The work is signed with the artist's name, Palekh and the year of 2020.
