Fast Ride

Yevgeniy Potekhin is the author of this traditional Fedoskino box that features an elegant lady and a gentleman riding in the carriage. The coachman whips quietly the horses with the reins making them race faster and faster. The lady enjoys the beautiful summer landscape the carriage rushes past.
The scene is well painted in the realistic style. Blue and grey tones dominate here. Both the box's exterior and interior are covered with white lacquer; the edges of the box's exterior and interior are dusted with light grey paint. The box's sides are adorned with an elegant pattern drawn in blue oil paint.
The box is constructed from quality paper-mache. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name.
