Winter Landscape

The work features the picturesque view of Russian countryside in Winter.
The scene is painted in different shades of white, brown and blue. There is infinite texture in the landscape. The structure of the trees is highly elaborate. Each and every tree and piece of garss is detailed to perfection! A piece of mother-of-pearl in-layed as the ice of the river.
The painting is framed with a golden line, as well as the sides are decorated with two parallel gold lines.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the piece while deep red lacquer completes the interior of the box. A hinge is fastened to the top of the composition, and the box rests on four legs. The work is signed and dated (2013) at the bottom of the composition in gray oils.
