This interesting Fedoskino box was painted by a well-known and talented artist Sergey Fomichov.
The box shows as a small room in a private Tavern in the 18th century in Russia. There are two adults and one young man have sit at the table.Young man and one of the persons have sheets of papers in their hands.While these two are discussing something, the other person is trying to pour some vodka in a glass. There is a sheet of paper on the the wall where we hardly can read the word "Dinners".
The composition is very well detailed, especially the faces! The shadows are very well painted too.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. The mixture of different oils is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work A hinge is fastened to the left of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name Fomichov and the year of 2008.
