Brooch: Dance

This brooch has been painted by a talented Palekh artist of Galina Kuzmenko.
It shows a scene from a peasant life: lad is playing the violin, while a girl near him is dancing.
The scene is painted in bright tempera paints against the black lacquered background that helps to intensify the colors.
The brooch is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers both sides of a brooch. The scene is framed with a golden dot ornament.
