Matrioshka "Out For the Water with yoke"(winter)

This colorful nestling doll is the production of Sergiev Posad Art School. It is made out of wood and includes four dolls (five in the whole). Each of them feature pretty girls dressed in winter Russian costumes and bright red kerchiefs. The first and the biggest doll has put her yoke on the ground to adjust her kerchief, as well as two smaller ones. The fourth and the fifth dolls are painted without a yoke because of their small size. The dolls' costumes are richly decorated with floral patterns, tassels and lace. To paint the dolls the artist has used a rich palette of different colors dominated by reds, browns and greens. The work is signed by the artist (Proshchenkova).
