Golden Summer

Olga Strunina from the village of Mstera is the talented artist responsible for this lovely composition. Elegance comes in the form of the finished product. 
Dozens of flowers bloom from within the center of the composition. Skillfully painted flowers, buds, leaves, graceful swirls, tendrils and insects form a single, complicated pattern of stylized plants. Painted in green, blue and red tempera paints the composition is richly detailed with lustrous gold paint. Gold paint has been also chosen to create a beautiful background for the composition. The box's sides are decorated with a nice gold pattern completed with flowers and berries painted in tempera paints.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the top of the composition, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's initials, Mstera, the title ("Golden Summer") and the year of 2006.
