Beauty that must be seen in order to be realized! A truly remarkable work that can be enjoyed and cherished for many years to come! Here Zakharov depicts a popular Pushkin's Fairy tale entitled, "Tale of Tsar Saltan".

Prince Gvidon, his wife the Princess Swan, and his mother meet the ship on the board of which Tsar Saltan is sailing (painted in right lower corner). Tsar Saltan heard much about the mysterious and rich island ruled by Prince Gvidon and his young beautiful wife. He heard about the magic squirrel that all day long shells golden nuts; he listened the stories about uncle old Chernomor and thirty-three knights who defend this wondrous island (painted in right upper corner), and decided to visit this interesting place. He doesn't know that powerful and rich Prince Gvidon is his son.

The box is constructed from quality paper-mache. The exterior of the box is painted with black lacquer while the interior of the piece is finished with lively red lacquer. The decorative elements of the piece are difficult to imagine let alone produce. The lid's artistry is framed with a gorgeous pattern of gold filigree. A shockingly profound design, reminiscent of the design work found on Byzantine architecture, decorates the sides of the box. Hundreds of individual vines extend to the left and right of this beauty. The vines twist, dip, turn and bloom into dozens of golden petals and flowers. A shimmering cascade showering the exterior with a heavenly glow. A hinge is fastened to the top of the composition, and the box sits on four legs.

A beautiful inscription is added to the interior of the lid and is adorned in gold filigree fancy. The inscription details the artists name, the title of the work, the village name of Kholuy and the year of 2019. Upon completion of the piece the artist writes their name, the title, the village name of Kholuy and the year of 2019 of which the piece was finished on the bottom of the composition in gold paint.

The artist does the same on the interior of the lid, but added that this work is his own original creation and left a more decorative signature.
