Winter in Russian country side

Dmitriy really likes to paint landscape scenes.
Using white, light gray and blue tones oil paints he has managed to express the beauty on Russian countryside in winter. On the foreground of the composition we can see sledge with the horse and a woman carrying two buckels with water on the shoulder-yoke.
Onte background we can see the cupalas of of the Church.
The scene is painted over a large piece of mother-of-pearl. The scene is framed with a large gold band.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. The exterior of the piece is painted with a dark brown lacquer while the interior is covered with a red velvety material. The lid is hinged from the top of the composition and the box rests on four small, rounded gold metal legs. The work is signed with the artist's name and date 2011.
