One of the leading Fedoskino painters, Pavel Anokhin, has painted this charming box that shows three ladies bearing the candals.
Anokhin's otherworldly style and subtle palette are easily recognizable. The palette includes blue and gray tones.
The box is constructed out of paper-mache. Dark blue lacquer covers the exterior and creamy gray lacquer covers the interior of the box. The box has a hinge from the top of the composition, and rests on four metal legs. The work is signed with the artist's name.
