A Road to Church

This beautiful box was painted by a leading Fedoskino artist Dmitriy Rogatov. The work is called a Road to Church and shows a lonely persson coming to a wooden church in the forest. Two wolfs are sit near the path, that several minutes ago was passed by this walker. They wanted to frighten him. Everyone has his own road to Church....
The box is painted in mono-chromic style.
The painting is bordered with a silver line. Beautiful winter forest is painted on the sides of the box.
The box exterior is covered with a black lacquer. The box's interior is traditionally covered with red lacquer.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. It has a hinge at the top of the box, and rests on a flat bottom. Signed with the artist's name and a date(2012).
