More info

This very detailed five-sided casket is a creation of a Honored Artist of Russia, famous Palekh Master Nina Bogachova(born in 1941).
The painting of each side is based on Russian Folk songs.
For one of them Bogachova has chosen Russian Folk ballade "Why are eagerly staring at the Road?" telling about undivided love of a young woman. On this composition we can see that woman that is not playing and dancing with village girls and lads , but staying on the road and waiting for the guy whom she loved...
On the top of the box we can see painting based on a song "Darling, please take me with you (for your trip).
On the front side- I will go out , girls are walking(dancing) and I'm getting better...
On the nother sides- "The ducks are flying and 2 gooses","I have a secret friend" and "The trails are covered with tall grass". The palette for this piece contains a wide spectrum of bright and vivid colors. Gold paint, applied with extreme precision, details almost every aspect of the composition. The edges of the lid are decorated with a simple pattern composed of gold beads.
The box is constructed out of paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box and red lacquer is used to paint the interior of the box. The lid is not hinged , and the box rests on four legs. The work is signed with the artist's name, the titles on each side, Palekh and the year of 2014.
