Riverbank

This peaceful river landscape is a creation of Ilya Buzovkin from the village of Fedoskino. It is early morning and fishermen are ready to start their working day. They leave the riverbank on board of their sailing boats and boats. Someone's wife has come to see her husband off. She sits on the riverbank and nurses her little child.
The landscape is painted in the realistic style using blue, green and brown tones of oils. A gold line is used to frame the depicted scene while the box's sides are decorated with two parallel gold lines.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name and the year of 2010.
