Snowmaiden

This interesting box is a creation of talented artist Bobkova Zoya. In this work the artists has painted an allegorical depiction of a Snowmaiden. Here Snowmaiden is shown as a romantic, young, winged girl among the forest animals- a deer and a wolf.
The composition is painted in bright blue and red oils. Gold and silver shines through the designs of the girl's costume. The artist has used metal foils to achieve this glamor effect. The Winter landscape on the background is simply beautiful! Fir trees are covered with snow and looks great!
The box is constructed out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The box has a hinge from the top of the scene, and rests on five wavy legs. The work is signed with the artist's name,title and Fedoskino.
