The scene shows us a winter troika (three horse sleigh) speeding through the Russian countryside. A lady hides from the snowstorm in the sleigh while a driver encourages the horses!
The painting is full of details-such as the sledge, the characters' costumes and the horses' harnesses, manes and tails. This is work is simply amazing, very thin details!
The scene is framed with a light green line. The lid is bordered with a nice golden ornament.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged to the top of the composition, and the box rests flat.
The work is signed with the initials of the artist (S.P.), title "Troyka" and the village of Mstera.
The box was painted in 1980, we can see the signing with the pen on the back side of the storage carton box. Condition is perfect, was not in use at all.
